MEICA Installation Engineer

Job Description

My client is looking for an experience MEICA Installation Engineer to manage the electrical and mechanical installation of ICA projects in the Technology devision of the business. 

The role is based their Derby office and will be required to travel between regional offices and to various client and vendor sites. The job holder will report into the M&E Supervisor and will work in a team of 2 – 3 people on the sites.

Key responsibilities for this MEICA Installation Engineer role:

  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and that RAMS are prepared for all projects requiring site works.
  • To ensure that all site activities are carried out in a systematic and controlled manner ensuring high levels of Client satisfaction
  • Manage and co-ordinate sub-contractors and product suppliers effectively.
  • Testing and commissioning of MEICA Equipment
  • Provide assistance in the testing of PLC, HMI and SCADA packages
  • Carry out inspection and testing of electrical installations
  • Attendance at site meetings
  • Report on progress to Manager highlight any concerns, / issues and opportunities of further work.
  • The Job Holder must possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to often work under considerable time pressures.

Experience required for this MEICA Installation Engineer role:

  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation.
  • Full working knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition

Experience required for this MEICA Installation Engieering role:

  • Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391) - City & Guilds
  • Competent as an industrial electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent):
  • ECS Cardholder (Installation Electrician)
  • C&G Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) (2382)
  • SSSTS preferred but not essential
  • Good basic education particularly in English language and grammar

Package offered for this MEICA Installation Engineer role:

  • £34,000-35,000 depending on experience 
  • Private Health care 
  • 25 days holidays plus bank holidays 
  • 5% match pension
