We're representing a global engineering consultancy with an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Lead to join their expanding Mission Critical team in London.
This role sits within a high-performing technical division delivering innovative solutions across complex, large-scale projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the mechanical function across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical excellence, consistency, and quality in project delivery.
The Role
As Mechanical Project Lead, you'll apply your engineering management and technical leadership skills across large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects. You'll be responsible for developing and executing project plans, ensuring performance across all mechanical functions, and mentoring junior team members.
Working closely with divisional leaders and technical specialists, you'll drive collaboration and uphold the highest technical and quality standards across the Mission Critical division.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across large and complex mechanical projects, ensuring consistency and quality in delivery.
- Drive technical excellence through robust verification and quality assurance processes.
- Manage risk effectively while supporting strategic and technical decision-making.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver high-impact engineering outcomes.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (CEng or equivalent highly regarded).
- Minimum 7 years' experience in engineering design and project delivery, including large, complex systems.
- Proven track record of managing projects throughout the full systems development lifecycle.
- Ideally, 4+ years' experience within the Mission Critical sector (Data Centres, Defence, or similar).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
