Logistics Manager - Data Centre Construction

Job Description

As a Logistics Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Construction Manager and Subcontractors to oversee and coordinate all site logistics and planning activities. You will be responsible for ensuring that subcontractors execute their scope of work in strict accordance with contractual requirements and approved documentation.

This position focuses on managing subcontractor logistics, installation planning, and field coordination for a complex, technically demanding mission-critical facility. Operating within a project management consultancy (PMC) framework on the client side, you will support the full project lifecycle from design development through commissioning and operational handover.

Success in this role requires a highly detail-oriented professional with substantial experience managing logistics on data centre developments or similarly complex technical construction projects. The role involves significant hands-on coordination of approved design documentation and verification that site installations align with issued drawings and specifications. Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are essential, as the role requires building trust and communicating effectively with client representatives, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Construction Manager to resolve coordination challenges and manage logistics planning across Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing trades.
  • Work closely with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) teams to align field execution with coordinated models and installation sequencing.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of contract drawings and technical specifications to produce phasing strategies, logistics plans, and sequencing frameworks aligned with the master schedule.
  • Chair logistics and planning meetings, documenting actions, tracking deliverables, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Prepare, maintain, and regularly update detailed logistics plans in collaboration with the Construction Manager and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with teams responsible for owner-supplied equipment to plan delivery, storage, and installation sequencing.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with approved logistics strategies and quality documentation requirements.

The ideal candidate will

  • Have at least five years of experience in a logistics leadership role on major construction projects.
  • Possess experience delivering multiple ground-up data centres or other mission-critical, technically intensive facilities.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of subcontractor coordination and logistics planning on complex, large-scale developments.
  • Have a proven track record working with high-profile or large-scale clients in mission-critical environments.
  • Exhibit strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with client teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Be capable of making timely, well-informed decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Hold a degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate strong technical understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Be proficient in standard business and project management software tools.
  • Possess strong English communication and organizational skills.
