Field Service Engineer

Package offered for this Field Service Engineer role:
- Salary: £39,720 per annum
- Location: Nationwide
- Benefits: Company van and fuel card, overtime available most weeks, on-call rota 1 in 14, with on-call payment, travel and accommodation covered when required, 22 days holiday + bank holidays, ongoing training and professional development
Key responsibilities for this Field Service Engineer role:
- Perform depot maintenance, servicing, and repairs on electrical and mechanical rail equipment
- Work independently on-site to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults efficiently
- Complete all job documentation using a mobile phone or tablet
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and the service office
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to rail industry standards
- Travel to multiple depot locations across the Midlands and South, including working away from home with overnight stays when required
Experience required for this Field Service Engineer role:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (mechanical knowledge also desirable)
- Previous experience in field-based service or depot maintenance, ideally in the rail sector
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Confident using mobile technology for reporting and job management
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
