The role
This multi-year programme includes the naturalisation of Pymmes Brook, creation of new parks and bridges, and significant upgrades to road and cycle networks.

We're recruiting an Environmental Manager to lead all environmental activities across the project. Reporting to the Senior Environmental Manager, you'll be a key figure in ensuring compliance, sustainability, and best practice across site operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Environmental professional to make a tangible impact on a high-profile, legacy-focused regeneration scheme.

Your responsibilities as Environmental Manager
- Lead the implementation and operation of the Project Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with BS EN ISO 14001 standards
- Develop, update, and maintain the Project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and associated documentation
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring (including water, dust, noise and waste)
- Interpret environmental data to inform decision making and ensure legal compliance
- Identify good practice and areas for improvement, engaging with site teams and senior management
- Record, investigate and report all environmental incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken
- Produce monthly environmental reports and ensure data entry into both internal and client systems
- Support the delivery of carbon management objectives and environmental risk mitigation strategies
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, regulators and client teams to ensure collaborative working and project success

What they're looking for from an Environmental Manager
- Experience working in a similar role within a major infrastructure, regeneration or civil engineering project
- Background with either a main contractor, consulting engineer or specialist environmental contractor
- Strong working knowledge of BS EN ISO 14001 and environmental monitoring techniques
- A broad understanding of carbon management practices and reporting
- Full Membership or Chartered status with IEMA preferred (minimum Practitioner level)
- A confident communicator with strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced project environment
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to continual improvement
