Design Manager – Data Centre Design & Delivery (MEP Focus)
Location: Frankfurt, Germany (Hybrid)
Projects: New-build & live AI / Hyperscale Data Centres across Germany, Italy, France & the UK
The Opportunity
We’re partnered with a leading Data Centre consultancy that’s scaling rapidly across Europe. They’re now looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their Frankfurt office, supporting the technical delivery and coordination of complex, mission-critical Data Centre projects.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer stepping up, or a technically strong Design Engineer who wants greater exposure to hyperscale Data Centres, multidisciplinary coordination, and international projects, without full programme-level responsibility. You’ll work closely with fellow engineers and senior stakeholders to ensure MEP designs are technically robust, coordinated, and aligned with Data Centre standards.
What you’ll be doing
As Design Manager, you will:
• Support the technical delivery of new-build and live Data Centre projects across Europe
• Act as a technical lead within MEP design teams, ensuring design quality and compliance
• Coordinate MEP design packages across electrical, mechanical, and CSA interfaces
• Review and develop MEP designs in line with Data Centre standards and client requirements
• Support AutoCAD / Revit-based workflows, model coordination, and design reviews
• Manage and respond to technical queries, RFIs, and design clarifications
• Interface with Project Managers, consultants, contractors, and clients on technical matters
• Support design integration with commissioning, construction, and operational requirements
• Contribute to lessons learned, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Gain exposure to AI-enabled design and delivery processes (AI experience not required)
What we’re looking for
• Experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Engineer within MEP, Building Services, or mission-critical environments
• Strong technical grounding in MEP systems and Data Centre or complex infrastructure projects
• Exposure to multidisciplinary design coordination and technical assurance
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Comfortable supporting technical decision-making and engaging with stakeholders
• Eager to develop into a more senior technical or project leadership role
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset
