A leading specialist contractor in the maintenance and repair of buildings and civil structures across the UK is seeking a Contracts Manager to join their team to drive projects in the North West of England.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the delivery of multiple contracts, ensuring financial, quality, safety, and environmental targets are met

Liaise with estimators during pre-contract planning stages

Lead and delegate to site-based engineering and delivery teams

Maintain a strong understanding of standard forms of contract and construction legislation

Approve and issue contracts and subcontracts
-
Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety and IMS procedures

Oversee contract programming, resource planning, and delivery schedules
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
-
Support the production of quality bids, PQQs, and client presentations
-
Advise on technical, legal, and contractual matters
-
Provide accurate data for monthly contract appraisals and reports

Monitor and control contract budgets and financial performance

Manage claims, variations, and risk assessments
-
Compile applications for payment and agree final accounts
-
Mentor and coach staff and operatives across multiple project teams
-
Participate in recruitment, performance management, and staff development
-
Assist with marketing, including project photography and press releases

Support initiatives to raise the company’s profile in the sector
Requirements:

Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or similar role within civil engineering or construction
-
Strong commercial, technical, and contractual knowledge
-
Excellent communication and leadership skills
-
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Familiarity with current contract forms (e.g., NEC, JCT) and construction law
-
Full UK driving licence
