Construction Manager – HV Switchgear experience needed - (Outside IR35)

Day Rate: Approx. £400 per day – Outside IR35
Contract Type: Hybrid, rolling 6‑month contract (with potential for up to 7 years of work)
Locations: Presently based in Folkestone (Kent) and New Forest (Hampshire), with upcoming projects in Essex
Work Pattern: 2–3 days on site, remainder working from home (flexible as required)

What you'll be doing as a Construction Manager

  • Lead and manage construction activities across multiple sites, starting with Folkestone and New Forest, with additional work planned in Essex.
  • Oversee site operations involving HV switchgear and substantiate power experience—including substation installations, commissioning, or similar.
  • Represent the company on site, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver safely, on time, and to budget.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Provide regular reporting and communicate effectively across stakeholders to keep projects aligned and progressing.

Must‑Have Experience & Qualifications for this Construction Manager role

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager in the construction industry (not just project management).
  • Hands‑on experience with HV switchgear; essential.
  • Strong preference for candidates with power infrastructure experience, especially working on substations (e.g., transformer, switchgear, GIS/AIS installations).
  • Full site mobility across Folkestone, New Forest, and Essex; ability to travel and adapt between locations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
