Civil Engineer – Structural & Hydraulic Engineering
Locations: Hamburg

Your Role

As part of an experienced engineering team, you will contribute to the planning and execution of structural projects, particularly in the field of hydraulic engineering and specialist foundation works. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and contributing to structural engineering projects, with a focus on hydraulic structures, immersed tunnels, and foundation systems
  • Performing structural analysis and developing design solutions for complex engineering works throughout all project phases
  • Designing and detailing specialist foundation elements such as excavation pits, retaining systems, and ground support structures
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and technically sound project delivery

Your Profile

You bring a solid foundation in structural engineering along with practical experience in infrastructure projects:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. or M.Sc.), ideally with a specialization in structural engineering or geotechnics
  • Around 5–10 years of experience in structural design and analysis of engineering structures
  • Exposure to hydraulic engineering projects (e.g., locks, ports, dams, culverts) and/or specialist foundation engineering is advantageous
  • Confident working with relevant structural design and analysis software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent German and good English language skills
  • Interest in sustainable construction approaches and digital tools such as BIM

The Team Environment

You will join a civil and water engineering unit delivering a wide variety of infrastructure projects, primarily across Northern Germany. The team focuses on the design of structures such as quay walls, embankments, jetties, and locks, working collaboratively across disciplines and leveraging a broad network of technical expertise.
