Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join a prominent Civils Contractor in Cork City.

In this role, you will work on multiple projects of varying sizes and be responsible for the following key duties as a civil engineer:

  • Overseeing day-to-day site quality assurance, which includes surveying, setting out tasks, quality checks, and approvals.
  • Collaborating with site management teams to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met.
  • Handling setting out activities, which involve transferring data and drawings from digital or paper formats to the construction site, and back into digital models for accurate record-keeping. You'll also be responsible for preparing work schedules and resource allocation.
  • Working closely with the project team, engaging with the Client, and coordinating with the civil sub-contractor project management team on-site, from project initiation to handover.

To qualify for this role, you should have the following experience for this civil engineer role:

  • Strong setting out experience and proficiency with Total Stations and GPS equipment.
  • The ability to work independently and take the initiative.
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior experience on civil engineering projects in Ireland or the UK.
  • Solid management skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Previous experience within the water industry would be advantageous.

The salary for this Civil Engineer position ranges from €45,000 to €60,000, depending on experience. It is negotiable and comes with a bonus scheme, car allowance, and additional benefits.
