CAD Technician - Transport Planning
An opportunity for a CAD Technician with at least 2 years of experience to join a transport planning and highway engineering consultancy. You'll support our transport planning team by preparing high-quality preliminary designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD, contributing to a wide range of transport-related projects including highways, junctions, access designs, car parks, and pedestrian/cycle infrastructure.
The key responsibilities for this CAD Technician role are:
- Prepare technical 2D design drawings and preliminary layouts using AutoCAD
- Support early-stage preliminary design for highways, junctions (priority, roundabout, and signalised), site access, car parks, bus stations, footways, and cycle routes
- Carry out swept path analysis using AutoTrack
- Prepare high quality graphics using GIS packages and/or Corel Draw
- Collaborate closely with transport planners and engineers to ensure designs meet client needs and project requirements
Experience required for this CAD Technician role are:
- At least 2 year's experience as a CAD Technician within Transport Planning/preliminary design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiar with AutoTrack
- Experience producing technical drawings for transport planning or civil engineering projects
- Basic working knowledge of GIS and/or CorelDRAW is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
