Associate Director – Data Centre Design & Delivery (MEP Focus)

Location: London (Hybrid: 3 days office)
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £90,000–£100,000 + benefits
Projects: New-build + live Data Centres (UK, France & Italy)

We are partnered with a leading Data Centre delivery specialist to bring on an Associate Director who will drive technical leadership, oversee multidisciplinary design teams, and shape the strategic direction of major mission-critical projects across Europe. This is a pivotal role within a rapidly scaling organisation, ideal for someone ready to step into high-impact leadership.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading multidisciplinary MEP design teams across full RIBA stages for complex Data Centre builds and upgrades.

  • Providing senior oversight of end-to-end Data Centre facility design, ensuring delivery quality and technical consistency.

  • Steering AutoCAD/Revit-based workflows and maintaining alignment with Data Centre standards and client expectations.

  • Managing key stakeholder relationships and acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients.

  • Championing the rollout of AI-focused design processes within the organisation (AI experience not required).

  • Overseeing design delivery across UK, French, and Italian Data Centre projects.

  • Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a high-performance team culture.

  • Contributing to business planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience in MEP Design Engineering, ideally with Data Centre or mission-critical exposure.

  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary design teams on large-scale, complex projects.

  • Strong understanding of E2E Data Centre facility design and technical standards.

  • Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

  • Commercial awareness and experience overseeing budgets, resourcing, and project scopes.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and comfort leading in a fast-paced environment.
