This is a great opportunity for an experienced Temporary Works Designer to join a well known Tier 1 contractor working on Major Projects within the Infrastructure sector.
The company is a well know Tier 1 contractor who operate nationwide throughout the UK and have a number of Regional offices. Your role as Temporary Works Designer you will joining an award winning business who will be part of the Design Team working within the Infrastructure/Utilities/Civils and capital project type works area of the business. The role will provide detailed design and checking temporary works and minor permanent works for civil engineering.

Key responsibilities for this Temporary Works Designer role:

Your day to day will include:
- Providing technical support to assist with operational activities, including support of excavations, falsework and formwork, access scaffolds, working platforms, shaft/tunnel installation, plant equipment, lifting operations.
- Designing Trench Support / Reinforced concrete shaft bases and roof slabs, steelwork fabrications, pipework thrust restraints.
- Preparation and checking of detailed technical designs (including calculations, drawings, risk assessments, design certificates)
- Undertake preliminary designs for pricing - obtain independent checks and/or third party technical approvals.
- Undertake technical review of method statements for complex or unusual methods.

Experience required for this Temporary Works Designer role:
- Experience in a similar role
- Degree in civil engineering and incorporated/chartered with a relevant professional institution (or en-route to achieving such a qualification)
- Thorough knowledge of engineering management, construction processes and technical design
- Able to identify risks and opportunities an think laterally but remain critically objective in evaluating alternatives





Package offered for this Temporary Works Designer role:

- Basic Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
- Flexible working-Mainly remote working but travel required to sites and office as and when required. MUST be flexible on travel when needed
