Design Engineer (Electrical)
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join a main contractor and work on the retro-fitment installation of train systems.
The company is an award-winning main contractor who are market leaders in rolling stock, train systems and traction control. Your role as Design Engineer will be responsible for designing in train systems.

Key responsibilities for this Design Engineer role:
- Ensure technical and design content of all stages of design is validated and approved.
- Ensure installation design requirements are correctly captured and delivered.
- Will take an active role in liaising with third party companies to ensure consistency across all designs.
- Provide technical advice, support and guidance to wider team.
- Responsible for preparing full review requirements, creating comments and attending reviews as required.
Experience required for this Design Engineer role:
- Recent design experience, within train systems including ETCS, TPWS, AWS, GSM-R, Wi-Fi, CCTV and DAS
- Previous experience with Solid Edge 3D CAD systems/models.
- Experience in vehicle surveys, design reviews and installation manuals.
- Experience working to industry quality and safety standards
Desirable experience for this Design Engineer role:
- Minimum 5+ years rail experience
- Previous experience in MicroStation CAD system / AutoCAD
- Proven track record working within contractor / subcontractor environments.
- Experience working with train operating companies or DfT
Package offered for this Design Engineer role:
- Dependant on experience starting from £350 - £400 a day
