UK Construction and Infrastructure Projects Overview for 2022

​2022 so far has been busy for most recruitment businesses, the increase in projects starting is having a huge impact on demand for talent. You only have to look at how many jobs are currently live across job boards to see just how busy the UK construction and infrastructure industries are. We are experiencing demand for talent that we have not experienced before. ​In this article we have taken a look at the top level figures to highlight just how busy the UK construction and infrastructure sectors are, in terms of projects that have started and are set to start in 2022. Using data from Glenigan, the leading provider of construction data, we have looked at how many £5m+ projects, across all sectors are planned to start in 2022 within the UK.​​Of course, these figures will change over the course of the year, with projects that don’t end up starting or delayed until 2023. But as a snapshot, it really does help show how the construction and infrastructure sectors have bounced back after a tough couple of years. ​How do these figures compare? Looking at these figures vs 2019, 2020 and 2021 it really does show how the construction and infrastructure sectors have recovered in terms of activity.
