​What is a Project Coordinator?

The role of a Project Coordinator is to monitor how a project is progressing, communicating with clients and negotiating with contractors. Usually a Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of a Project Manager or Site Manager.

Key skills to be successful as a Project Coordinator will include:

 

  • Strong administrational skills

  • Understand health and safety regulations

  • String negotiating skills

  • Confident in using Project Management software

What are the typical daily duties for a Project Coordinator?

  • Inspect the construction site to ensure quality control standards are high in all phases.

  • Coordinate with the material supply chain

  • Prepare project progress reports

  • Supervise and facilitate equipment and component installation to assure that every process is running to the correct standards

City Centre Metro Extension

As part of the Wolverhampton Interchange, the West Midlands Metro extension will run from a junction with the existing West Midlands Metro system close to the current terminus at Wolverhampton St. George’s through to Wolverhampton Railway Station. West Midlands Metro will stop at the city’s Bus Station on Pipers Row, before continuing to Wolverhampton Railway Station, allowing easy interchange with other modes of transport. This West Midlands Metro extension is part of an overall investment in the city in excess of £150m and will create 1,500 jobs.
