Building Science Project Manager

Job Description

As the Building Science Project Manager you will be working closely with the Team Lead by assisting on various projects and contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of the service line. The Building Science Project Manager will need to provide exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (consultants, contractors, etc.). Responsibilities for the Building Science Project Manager:

Work with the Team lead  in providing our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with the Project Manager; this includes collecting and coordinating useful information.
Maintain a working relationship with other teammates.
Participate in discussions with client, as required.
Write field inspections and technical reports.
Under supervision, conduct inspections and provide technical services for the following:
curtain wall systems
energy efficiency and sustainable designs
insulation
material interactions and compatibilities
materials engineering
parkades
waterproofing
roofing
stucco
transfer of heat, air and moisture through a building envelope
windows
Under supervision prepare and review construction design documents (specifications and drawings).
Gain an understanding of quality control.
Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WEC Purpose and Core Values.
Teammates are required to adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.


Education & Experience for the Building Science Project Manager:

Graduate of a Technical Certificate or Diploma program in Civil, Architectural or Construction Technology OR a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Experience or knowledge related to building envelope is required.
Experience with AutoCAD is required.
May hold E.I.T., AScT, or C.E.T. designation.
May be working towards P.Eng., P. Tech., or P.L.Eng.
Must have valid class 5 drivers license.
