Salary / Package
£55,000 - £70,000 dependant on experience plus car / car allowance & package

Company information
As a leading principal main contractor in the Rail & Civil Engineer Sector is looking to fill the position of Assurance and Handover Manager.
This position will be responsible for managing the Handover of a £70m train depot project in Newcastle upon Tyne which will be home to the new fleet of Statler trains
You will be required to define the assurance and certification strategies for each package of works considering all stakeholder requirements at each technical lifecycle.

Day to day responsibilities

- Promote the Quality Culture of 'Right First Time, Every Time' within the Project Team, Consultants and Subcontractors. Develop, implement and maintain the Assurance & Certification Plan, Works Package Handover Procedure and associated procedures.
- Ensure development of the assurance and certification strategies taking into account the requirements of stakeholders
- Define Assurance and Certification and Handover Strategies for each Subcontract works package and the responsible authorities / accountable persons.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders for agreement / buy in on the certification and handover strategies
- Facilitate Subcontractor Pre-Start Assurance & Certification and Handover Meetings upon subcontract award.
- Ensure that the Subcontractor is fully aware of their obligations, in regard to the Assurance & Certification and Handover requirements as specified within the subcontractor works information.
- Work collaboratively with Design, Delivery, Engineering and Technical Assurance Teams to ensure integration with the respective processes.
- Undertake regular checks to ensure the handover documentation being produced is suitable for transfer to the Client and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and track to closure all documents relevant for handover
- Reporting on the status of handover documentation for inclusion into the Quality Reports. Participate in improvement workshops to support continual improvement when required. Support the quality team with other activities as directed by the Head of Quality.

Seeking Candidates with

- Experience in a similar role working on major infrastructure projects ideally in the rail sector or civil engineering sector on large infrastructure projects
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- Experience working in large infrastructure projects
- Previous experience in quality assurance and self-certification (ISO 9001)
- Experience in Snagging Management, Asset Management & final Handover
