Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering design and technical services across the UK infrastructure and utilities sector. The business supports major water, wastewater and environmental programmes, working closely with utility providers and infrastructure operators.
With continued investment across the water industry, the organisation is expanding its engineering capability to support a growing portfolio of wastewater, drainage and flood risk management projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer you will support the delivery of civil engineering design across wastewater networks, treatment schemes and drainage infrastructure projects.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the technical delivery of projects while building strong working relationships with clients and internal design teams. The role offers hybrid working with time spent in the Warrington office and occasional site visits where required.
The key requirements for this Senior Civil Engineer role are:
- Deliver civil engineering design across wastewater networks and drainage infrastructure
- Support the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and internal design teams
- Contribute to technical assurance and quality processes
- Assist with project planning, programme delivery and coordination of design outputs
- Support junior engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing
- Contribute to resolving engineering challenges across projects
- Promote high standards across safety, quality and sustainability
Experience required for this Senior Civil Engineer role are:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Experience delivering civil engineering design within infrastructure or water sector projects
- Strong understanding of drainage, wastewater networks and flood risk management
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Civil Engineer role are:
- Experience liaising with hydraulic modelling teams
- Experience using Tedds or similar design software
- Reinforced concrete design experience
- Experience designing CSO structures or storage tanks
- Knowledge of UK water industry engineering standards
