About the Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the health, safety and wellbeing agenda across major infrastructure and energy projects. You will manage and mentor a team of advisors, drive the implementation of ISO 45001 systems, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. This role requires strong leadership, strategic input and the ability to foster a positive safety culture, while also liaising with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies.

The key requirements for this Health & Safety Manager role are:
- Lead and manage the H&S team across energy sector projects in Scotland
- Take ownership of the H&S management system, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and contractual obligations
- Develop and implement project-specific H&S strategies, policies and procedures
- Provide leadership during inspections, audits and accident investigations, ensuring findings are acted upon
- Deliver high-quality reporting on performance, KPIs and trends to senior leadership
- Act as the main point of contact with clients, regulators and external bodies on all H&S matters
- Champion a proactive safety culture across the workforce and supply chain
- Support the training, mentoring and development of safety advisors and site teams

Experience required for this Health & Safety Manager role are:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (Diploma or equivalent desirable)
- Valid IOSH membership (Chartered or working towards preferred)
- Significant experience managing health and safety in infrastructure or construction projects
- Strong knowledge of OHSAS/ISO 45001 standards
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Ability to manage budgets, resources and multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Health & Safety Manager role are:
- Previous experience as an H&S Manager within the energy or infrastructure sector
- Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) status
- Knowledge of incident investigation models and methodologies
- Experience delivering training and internal safety programmes
