About the Role
As Health & Safety Lead, you will provide strategic direction for all H&S activity across critical energy infrastructure projects. You will be accountable for developing and implementing safety strategies, engaging at board and client level, and ensuring projects meet the highest standards of safety performance. This is a senior role requiring proven leadership, the ability to influence culture, and the credibility to represent the organisation with clients, regulators and industry bodies.

The key requirements for this Health & Safety Lead role are:
- Lead the health, safety and wellbeing function across multiple energy sector projects in Scotland
- Develop, implement and oversee H&S strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives and ISO 45001 standards
- Act as the senior point of contact for clients, regulators and external stakeholders on all H&S matters
- Lead the monitoring, reporting and analysis of H&S performance at strategic level, providing updates to senior leadership and board members
- Oversee investigations into incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and lessons learned shared across the organisation
- Champion cultural change and continuous improvement in safety practices across projects and supply chains
- Provide coaching, mentoring and direction to managers, advisors and project teams to embed best practice

Experience required for this Health & Safety Lead role are:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent senior-level health and safety qualification
- Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards
- Significant leadership experience within health and safety, ideally on major infrastructure or energy projects
- Strong knowledge of OHSAS/ISO 45001 standards and UK health & safety legislation
- Proven experience in leading cultural change programmes and strategic H&S initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including influencing at board level
- Strong leadership, mentoring and team development ability
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Health & Safety Lead role are:
- Track record of leading H&S in the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector
- Experience representing organisations in external forums or regulatory bodies
- Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation models and safety-critical systems
- Evidence of driving innovation in H&S practices and processes
