Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum + package

Our client, a well-established main contractor and project delivery specialist, is seeking a Design Manager to join their growing team in the North West. With a strong pipeline of work across healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, this is an excellent opportunity to join a company that values quality, innovation, and professional growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the design process from concept through to construction and handover

     

  • Manage consultants and design teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project specifications

     

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to integrate design and construction activities

     

  • Review and manage technical submissions, planning applications, and design deliverables

     

  • Drive value engineering while maintaining quality and compliance with building regulations

     

  • Support pre-construction and tendering phases where required

     

 

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor or design consultancy

     

  • Background in managing multidisciplinary projects across at least two sectors (healthcare, education, residential, commercial, etc.)

     

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards

     

  • Confident communicator with excellent coordination and problem-solving skills

     

  • HNC/HND or degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

     

  • Proficiency in design and document management tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc.)
