Data Analyst
Location: Stratford, London (5 days per week onsite)
Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience

About the Data Analyst role
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Data Analyst to join a growing technical team. You’ll be responsible for transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support operational decision-making and improve business performance. The role combines hands-on analytics, dashboard development, and close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities for this Data Analyst role include:
• Working with large datasets to clean, structure, and prepare data for analysis
• Building end-to-end dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
• Creating visualisations and data stories to communicate trends, patterns, and insights
• Writing SQL queries including joins, aggregations, and filtering
• Supporting the development and tracking of KPIs and performance metrics
• Providing analytical support to operational and project teams
• Automating reporting processes where possible
• Presenting insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders

Essential skills and experience required:
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
• Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, pivoting, formulas, lookups, and data cleansing
• Ability to write SQL queries confidently
• Experience building dashboards from scratch
• Ability to analyse large datasets efficiently
• Strong understanding of KPIs, metrics, and data storytelling
• Great communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly

Desirable skills and experience:
• Experience within rail, highways, engineering, or asset management (not essential)
• Experience working with operational or field-based datasets
• Understanding of data modelling or ETL processes
