The Opportunity..
This is a unique opportunity to join a new division of an extremely successful tier 1 contractor and play a pivotal role in shaping its success.
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Planner or Planning Manager with extensive Data Centre experience across both pre-construction and delivery stages. This individual will be instrumental in securing work, establishing planning standards and ultimately building and leading a planning team as the sector grows. They currently have a number of tender opportunities that are progressing and a strong pipeline of secured and prospective schemes from 2026 onwards.
Although there is complete flexibility within this role, there will be a need to travel to the office to attend meetings and visit projects which are currently located in North London, although future projects are expected nationwide.
The Role..
Initially, you will take full ownership of planning activities across both tender and live project stages. As the sector expands, you will transition into managing and growing a dedicated planning team.
Pre-Construction Responsibilities:
- Lead the full tender planning function, producing all required deliverables.
- Contribute strategically to bid submissions, ensuring programmes are competitive, robust and deliverable
- Attend and contribute to tender coordination meetings.
Construction Phase Responsibilities:
- Undertake a site-based planning role or manage site-based planners.
- Develop and manage detailed construction programmes in Asta and/or P6.
- Produce client-facing programmes suitable for scrutiny, including earned value analysis where required.
- Monitor progress, identify risks and drive mitigation strategies.
- Support commercial and operational teams with programme-related matters.
As workload increases, you will be involved in the recruitment and development of additional planning staff, helping to establish and grow the Data Centre planning capability within the business.
Key Requirements..
- Extensive Planning experience within Data Centre construction projects (essential).
- Strong background across both pre-construction and live project delivery.
- Proficient in Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6.
- Experience producing detailed tender planning deliverables.
- Ability to operate independently in a start-up sector environment.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills.
- Flexible to travel as the job requires.
