BIM Lead
Summary
An industry-leading mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and low carbon consultancy with expertise across many sectors including Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial, Infrastructure, Sustainability and Public Buildings have an exciting opportunity for a BIM Lead to join us the business based at either their Solihull HQ or Birmingham Office.
This is a permanent full-time position working 36.25 hours per week under our agile framework.
BIM Lead Responsibilities
- Implementation and enforcement of organisational BIM Standards.
- Provide BIM training internally for the business unit.
- Manage & Control of Project Information to and from Common Data Environments following agreed protocols and ensure that the data is secure.
- Model Validation (Geometric & Data QA).
- Trouble Shooting / Fire Fighting.
- Prepare BIM execution plans and project specific training documentation.
- Assist with company efficiencies and productivity hacks in the organisations BIM process.
- Attend conferences, seminars and workshops on behalf of the company with a view to transferring knowledge internally within the organisation.
- Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.
- Assist with the implementation of BIM supporting software.
- Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as required.
- Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.
- Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets/workflow and project set up.
- Communicate effectively and offer cross-team support.
- Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
- Daily model management administration and maintenance.
- Understand and execute government standards by implementing during virtual design and construction phase.
- Manage and coordinate sensitive and confidential information.
BIM Lead Experience & Qualifications
- A Degree or HNC/HND in building services engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction.
- Minimum of 4-5 years' experience as a BIM Technician/Modeler, CAD Technician or BIM Coordinator.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, especially ISO 19650, protocols, and Common Data Environments (CDEs).
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Solibri, and platforms like BIM 360/ACC is essential.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling, model federation, clash detection, and data management.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving coordination issues.
- Good time management and task prioritisation.
Salary: between £50,000 - £60,000 dependant on experience plus package including;
