Technical Manager - International Road Projects
Summary
A leading infrastructure and facility management company in Qatar have been awarded a £4billion 10-year framework contract for the operation and maintenance of road networks across Qatar and are seeking an experienced Technical Manager with experience working on major road/highway projects internationally
Under this framework, the business has received the main Work Order for the operation and maintenance of the road network of Qatar North.
The contract covers pavement works, pavement markings, roadside safety features, directional signage, civil structures, streetlighting, ITS end devices, and other road-related assets.
Role Purpose for the Technical Manager Role
Oversee all technical and engineering aspects of road and infrastructure projects, ensuring design, construction, and maintenance meet international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities the Technical Manager Role
- Lead technical teams in road and infrastructure maintenance projects.
- Review designs, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with international road engineering standards (AASHTO, Eurocodes, etc.).
- Provide technical solutions for complex engineering challenges.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
Requirements for the Technical Manager Role
- 10+ years' technical management experience, with at least 5 years on international road/highway projects outside MENA.
- Bachelor's/master's in civil engineering or related discipline.
- Ideally a Chartered engineering professional through a recognised professional body
- Strong knowledge of pavement engineering, structures, and road maintenance systems.
- UPDA/QCDD/QSAS certifications advantageous (if already familiar with GCC).
