About the Role
As a Senior Tendering Engineer, you will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of high-quality, commercially sound tenders across high voltage and utility infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for managing multiple tenders, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness and technical compliance, while working closely with internal teams and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role based out of Kettering, with flexibility required and occasional travel across the UK.
The key responsibilities for this Senior Tendering Engineer role are:
- Prepare and manage tenders for HV electrical and utility infrastructure projects
- Deliver accurate and commercially viable cost estimates and proposals
- Review technical specifications, drawings and client requirements
- Identify and manage commercial and technical risks within tenders
- Liaise with internal design, commercial and delivery teams
- Ensure tenders are submitted within agreed timeframes and to a high standard
- Provide technical input and support during client meetings and bid presentations
- Support handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams
- Maintain compliance with company processes and quality standards
Experience required for this Senior Tendering Engineer role are:
- 5-10 years' experience in a tendering or estimating role within utilities or construction
- Strong experience working on HV (11kV-132kV) electrical infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex tenders
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles
- Experience working within a fast-paced engineering or utilities environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Tendering Engineer role are:
- Experience with IDNO networks, substations or grid connections
- Knowledge of control, protection and automation systems
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Project experience
- Understanding of CDM Regulations
- Professional membership or working towards (e.g. IET)
