The successful Senior Construction Risk & Change Manager will play a critical role in ensuring project success by managing complex change and risk processes across all project stages.
The Role
As the Senior Construction Risk & Change Manager, you will oversee both risk management (30%) and change management (70%) activities for one of Europe’s most demanding construction projects. Working closely with client stakeholders, consultants, and subject matter experts, you’ll be responsible for leading the end-to-end management of Early Warning Notifications (EWNs), risk tracking, and change control documentation.
This is a visible and influential position, ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with strategic communication and leadership ability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and track all Early Warning Notifications (EWNs), Risk Management, and Change Management processes.
Chair and facilitate regular EWN, Risk, and Change meetings with project stakeholders and technical leads.
Escalate submissions that breach agreed thresholds and ensure appropriate resolution.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all parties regarding change orders and risk exposure.
Oversee the client’s database to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity of change and risk records.
Use facilitation best practices to engage risk owners, develop realistic impact assessments, and quantify mitigation measures.
Conduct stress-test scenarios on extreme risk events and present findings to senior leadership.
Prepare comprehensive monthly reports on project risk and change status for inclusion in client updates.
Manage and report on the contingency budget, ensuring clear documentation of approvals and drawdowns.
About You
The ideal Senior Construction Risk & Change Manager will be an analytical, detail-driven professional with a track record of managing large, complex construction projects. You’ll have strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
You’ll bring:
A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline with a focus on Risk and Change Management.
Proven experience on major construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within mission-critical environments.
Proficiency in risk management tools such as Safran Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, or @Risk, and familiarity with ARM, Xactium, or RiskPredict.
Working knowledge of ISO 31000, COSO, AACE, or PMI risk management frameworks.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Eligibility to work in Belgium and a willingness to be based near Farciennes or Charleroi.
