About the Role
This role sits within a commercial and procurement team supporting complex infrastructure projects in the South West and Thames Valley region.
You will work within a client team environment, supporting the delivery of infrastructure programmes while managing key commercial and cost management activities. The position may involve secondment within a client organisation, with work split between client offices and internal offices depending on project requirements.
You will support project delivery through cost control, contract administration, procurement support and commercial reporting while building strong working relationships across project teams.
The key requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Monitor and manage project costs to support delivery within budget
- Review contractor and supplier applications for payment
- Prepare and provide financial and commercial reports
- Support procurement activities including contractor evaluation
- Administer construction contracts and manage contract changes
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
- Identify and support the management of commercial risks
- Assist with value management and cost improvement initiatives
- Work closely with project managers, contractors and client teams
- Support the development of junior colleagues where required
Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience working on civil infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of UK construction contracts including NEC, ICC, FIDIC or JCT
- Experience supporting commercial activities on infrastructure projects
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Experience mentoring junior team members
- Experience working within a consultancy or client side environment
