Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) / Quantity Surveyor (QS)
Location: Wakefield
Engagement: Freelance with a permanent opportunity
Working Pattern: 4 days office-based, 1 day working from home
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established team working across both clean and dirty water projects. This role is due to a replacement, offering a great opportunity to step into an existing position within a stable and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing commercial aspects of water sector projects (clean & wastewater)
- Working under NEC contracts
- Supporting or leading cost management, valuations, and variations
- Liaising with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Assisting with financial reporting and forecasting
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
Requirements:
- Experience working as an AQS or QS
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
- Previous experience in the water sector (clean or wastewater preferred)
- Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
