Mechanical Commercial Consultant - Rolling stock
This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Commercial Consultant - Rolling stock to work within an existing engineering team who are responsible for providing engineering support to the procurement of parts, services, materials to ensure that we provide materials and services that are appropriate for use on LU Rolling Stock for the safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operation of services.
Key responsibilities for this Mechanical Commercial Consultant - Rolling stock role:
Technical product specifications (TPSs)
- Technical requirements specifications (TRSs)
- Selection and tender questions
- Technical evaluation during bidding process
- Non-competitive transaction assessments
- Early market engagement presentations and assessments
- the technical specifications and requirements to enable competitive procurement tenders
- the production of technical arguments to justify single source procurements
Experience required for this Mechanical Commercial Consultant - Rolling stock role:
- The procurement activities require both electrical and mechanical engineering expertise, but the majority of demand is biased towards mechanical engineering
- Mechanical engineer, ideally with asset domain knowledge of UK Rolling Stock
- Knowledge of applicable health & safety legislation, industry best practice, standards and guidance
Desirable experience required for this Mechanical Commercial Consultant - Rolling stock role:
- Familiarity with the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 and experience of public sector procurement preferable
