We are currently partnered with a leading global consultancy that is expanding its Data Centre division across EMEA. This business is a recognised industry leader, delivering world-class infrastructure projects for some of the world’s most influential technology firms. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Director to join their senior leadership team.
This is a remote-first role with flexibility to collaborate across the UK, Europe, and globally.
The Opportunity
As Mechanical Director, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic growth of the data centre sector. You’ll lead and develop a team of technical specialists, shape project delivery standards, and partner with major clients across hyperscale and co-location markets. This is both a leadership and client-facing position, offering the chance to influence at the highest level while driving technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Director role:

Lead, develop, and inspire a growing Data Centre Mechanical team across EMEA

Shape and deliver technical strategies, standards, and benchmarks for complex projects

Partner with major tech clients, ensuring their evolving needs are met with innovative MEP solutions

Drive business development initiatives, expanding client relationships and supporting work-winning efforts

Oversee project delivery, risk management, KPIs, and commercial performance for large-scale programmes

Mentor and coach the next generation of engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and team development
About You

Proven track record in delivering mechanical projects within data centres or mission critical environments

Leadership experience with a focus on technical excellence and team development

Strong business development and client-facing background across the UK and ideally EMEA
-
Chartered Engineer (CIBSE or equivalent) with a degree in a relevant discipline

Deep knowledge of mechanical design, engineering practices, and financial management of projects

Excellent communicator, confident in building strong client relationships at senior level
