Job Title: Managing QS
Location: Home based but must be able to travel to Carlisle a couple of times a month
Salary / Benefits: £60,000 - £65,000 depending on experience + car + package
Start Date: immediate starts available

Company Information:

My client deliver design, construction, maintenance, and enhancement projects for both the rail
and non-rail sectors, offering complete packages encompassing buildings and civils,
structures, earthworks & geotechnical, lineside infrastructure, vegetation clearance, fencing,
drainage and permanent way works.
Manage specialist industrial and commercial schemes such as multi-model
distribution warehousing, office buildings, rail to road transport interchange depot's and
maintenance facilities, deliver groundworks and civils and install all types of
pavement including "ALL Weather" surfacing for racetracks, aircraft stands and aprons,
wood storage facilities, lorry parks etc.
They have a specialist fleet of Rail and Civils Plant and Equipment which as well as servicing
our contracts and is available for External Hire.
Your requirements:
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (Desirable)
- Strategic change Management

- Able to manage opportunities & threats
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisation skills.
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines and cope with pressure at busy times.
- Self-motivated, to constantly improve upon established policies and procedures.
- A confident individual who is able to build relationships quickly and work flexibly and in a reactive and proactive way.
The role:
You will be responsible for all commercial and contractual matters across the Projects.
You will have the ability to effectively manage and develop the commercial team to successfully
deliver the projects, working alongside the Project teams to achieve optimum recovery and
cash flow whilst also developing and maintaining excellent relationships with the Client.
You will be aware of the contractual requirements of the projects, advise the site team on key
requirements and ensure that all notices and other matters are actioned accordingly to
protect the businesses contractual position (Main, Sub-Contracts and any consultancy agreements)
