Electrical Qualified Supervisor

About the Role:

We are seeking a competent and experienced Electrical Qualified Supervisor (QS) (or an experienced electrician who is looking to progress their career) to oversee and ensure compliance with current electrical regulations, specifically NICEIC standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising electrical work, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across all installations and maintenance activities as well as carrying out installation works, testing & inspection and Auditing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for the company.
  • Ensure that all electrical work carried out by the team is fully compliant with current wiring regulations (BS 7671) and NICEIC certification standards.
  • Carry out electrical installation & maintenance works.
  • Sign off on completed work and issue electrical certificates (EIC, MEIWC).
  • Support & motivate workers, solve problems, anticipate potential issues and aim to overcome.
  • Undertake supervisory duties of company employees to ensure they are competent and adequately supervised
  • Manage & instruct site staff on any issues that may resolve. If these cannot be resolved escalate to the head of electrical.
  • Ensure company health & safety guidelines are followed and consult with QHSE when required.
  • Conduct regular site inspections / Audits and provide detailed feedback to the QHSE department.
  • Answer any questions / give advice to all field staff as requested.
  • Carry out electrical installation & maintenance on site as directed by office staff on a variety of projects undertaken by the company.

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing).
  • Current 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role within the electrical industry.
  • Ability to supervise and sign off electrical work as a NICEIC QS.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Renewable Energy Systems, Battery Storage & EV Charging or at least a good level of understanding and a desire to undertake further training to attain these qualifications.
  • Experience in a similar role within the electrical industry.
  • Experience using certification software (e.g., NICEIC, MCS).
