Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering design and advisory services across the UK infrastructure and utilities sectors. The business supports major programmes within water, wastewater and environmental infrastructure, providing multidisciplinary engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle.
Due to continued growth and increased investment across the water industry, the organisation is expanding its Electrical Engineering capability to support a growing portfolio of wastewater treatment, process and infrastructure projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will play a key role in the delivery of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) design across water and wastewater infrastructure schemes.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to feasibility studies, outline design and detailed engineering design for wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects. The role also includes technical leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior engineers and supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
The position offers hybrid working with time spent in the Warrington office alongside occasional site visits.
The key requirements for this Senior Electrical Engineer role are:
- Deliver EICA design solutions across water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Produce electrical engineering design deliverables including calculations, specifications and drawings
- Support feasibility, outline and detailed design stages of engineering projects
- Manage CAD resources to support the production of engineering drawings
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure design quality and compliance
- Mentor and support junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Support proposal preparation including fee estimates and programme planning
- Develop innovative engineering solutions to improve project delivery
- Promote strong engineering, safety and quality standards across projects
Experience required for this Senior Electrical Engineer role are:
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong experience delivering EICA design within water or process engineering environments
- Experience producing electrical design deliverables including load schedules, cable calculations and system architectures
- Experience supporting feasibility studies and detailed engineering design
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Electrical Engineer role are:
- Experience undertaking SIL or LOPA assessments
- Experience conducting DSEAR assessments
- Experience using AMTECH or Trimble for electrical calculations and fault studies
- Experience with AutoCAD for engineering drawings
- Knowledge of UK water industry engineering standards and specifications
- Experience with HV electrical systems design and specification
