Overview:
This position sits at associate level within the electrical function and involves leading electrical design activities across large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects. The Associate Electrical Engineer will act as a technical authority within the discipline, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation across all electrical systems while managing project delivery from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a high-performing team of electrical engineers across multiple concurrent projects.
• Oversee all phases of electrical design including LV and MV distribution, standby generation, UPS, lighting, fire alarm, ICT, and ELV systems.
• Drive coordination with mechanical and other engineering teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions.
• Ensure all systems comply with IEC, BS, IS, EN standards, and relevant local building regulations.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, and validation of electrical systems to confirm design performance.
• Lead design reviews, value engineering, and cost-effective, reliable, and safe electrical solutions.
• Embed health, safety, and maintainability principles into all electrical design work.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, scope, and risk registers, ensuring accountability for outcomes.
• Supervise QA/QC processes, document control, and adherence to internal quality standards.
• Integrate energy efficiency, renewables, and smart power systems in line with sustainability objectives.
• Lead technical presentations, workshops, and client coordination meetings.
• Mentor and develop engineers, supporting technical growth and Chartership progression.
• Support business development through proposals, tenders, and client engagement.
• Drive innovation through digital engineering, smart systems integration, and data-driven design improvements.

Technical Skills:
• Advanced technical knowledge of power distribution, earthing, lighting, life safety, ICT, and control systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Bluebeam, Dialux, and ETAP.
• Strong experience in power system design, fault level calculations, and protection coordination.
• Familiarity with QA/QC frameworks, BIM workflows, and smart building technologies.
• Understanding of renewable integration, energy storage, and low-carbon system design.

Experience & Qualifications:
• 10+ years’ experience in electrical building services design and project delivery, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively progressing toward chartership.
• Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex multidisciplinary projects across data centre, commercial, healthcare, and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and client relationships effectively.
