Town Planner – Residential Developer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Town Planner to join a well-established residential developer based in Nottingham. This is a client-side role offering genuine responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to be part of a small, close-knit team with a strong local pipeline.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for managing planning matters across a range of residential developments, from initial feasibility through to post-consent delivery. This is a varied role that will suit someone who thrives on working across multiple sites and engaging with stakeholders throughout the planning process.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, submit, and monitor planning applications

Discharge conditions and track application progress

Liaise with local authorities, consultants, architects, ecologists, highways engineers, and other stakeholders

Monitor S106 obligations and ensure compliance

Prepare site assessments and coordinate planning documentation

Support on matters relating to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and emerging planning policy
About You:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in planning, ideally including work for or with a residential developer

Strong understanding of the UK planning system, particularly in residential development

Confident managing planning submissions and engaging with local authority officers and consultants

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

MRTPI qualification or working towards it preferred
