Job Summary:
The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects at various sites within the Ottawa area. The role involves coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and resource allocation.
Ensure that construction projects are executed according to approved plans, specifications, and schedules.
Regularly inspect work in progress to maintain quality standards and compliance with project requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce and promote a strong culture of safety on the construction site.
Ensure that all work activities are conducted in accordance with relevant safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks with the workforce and subcontractors.
Team Management:
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and other personnel involved in the project.
Provide clear direction to the construction team, set expectations, and monitor performance.
Address any issues, conflicts, or delays that may arise during the construction process.
Project Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and site photos.
Keep track of materials and equipment deliveries, ensuring they align with project schedules.
Communication:
Maintain open communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to provide project updates and address any concerns.
Report project progress, issues, and potential risks to senior management as required.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections to identify and address deficiencies.
Budget and Cost Management:
Assist in monitoring project budgets and costs, including labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and work to prevent cost overruns.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience as a Construction Site Superintendent or a similar role in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and protocols.

Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Education:
