Our client is a full-service general contractor located in Brampton, Ontario, with a proven track-record of providing high-quality design, development, renovation, restoration, and remodeling of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Our client is seeking an experienced site superintendent to join their growing construction team to assist in on-site performance, maintaining safety protocol, optimum planning, and coordinating with others on site.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the daily activities of construction tradespeople
- Establishing coordinating methods to meet work schedules and coordinating work activities with other departments/subcontractors/supervisors/managers
- Resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Ensure accurate up to date reports.
- Training or arranging for the training of workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Ensuring standards for safe working conditions are observed
- Preparing schedules, work progress, production, and other reports
- May perform duties of their trade, working alongside those who oversee.
Required Skills and Experience:
- You have at least 10+ years of local experience as a site superintendent on large-scale ICI projects, especially hotels or long-term-care communities
- Have strong leadership skills and the ability to resolve problems quickly
- Proven track record of strict adherence to safety regulations, workforce management, and quality control.
- Hands on Construction experience
- Work Safety Awareness Training and Working at heights WHMIS First Aid (optional).
- Own transportation with valid driver's license.
- Graduate from recognized engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset.
