About the Role

As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of major civil and EHV projects from start to completion. You’ll lead teams on-site, manage subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The role is largely remote with regular UK travel, giving you the flexibility to manage projects while staying connected with both clients and site operations. It’s an opportunity for a technically strong and organised individual who enjoys leading by example and delivering exceptional results.

This role will involve going from Project to Project nationally so you must be available to travel and be away from home during the week.


The key requirements for this Site Project Manager role are:

  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery from mobilisation to completion
  • Manage site resources including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
  • Plan and programme works using MS Project and ensure milestones are achieved
  • Produce and maintain project documentation including Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
  • Manage financial reporting, valuations and applications for payment
  • Maintain detailed cost records and track profit margins
  • Liaise directly with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure high standards of quality and workmanship are achieved on all projects
  • Prepare and evaluate additional works, variations and change requests

Experience required for this Site Project Manager role are:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in site or project management
  • Background in civils, utilities or EHV/substation projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple worksites across the UK
  • Strong planning and programming skills using MS Project
  • Financially aware with solid understanding of cost control and reporting
  • Experience with NEC3 contract conditions
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Site Project Manager role are:

  • Substation civils and HV cable installation experience
  • Temporary Works Coordinator knowledge
  • NRSWA Supervisor, SMSTS, First Aid, BESC/Person certification
  • Excellent client-facing and leadership skills
