Flood Alleviation Scheme - Lowestoft
Contract: 12 months (initial) | Outside IR35 | Long-term opportunity

We are currently supporting Ben Acre in the search for an experienced Site Manager to join a major Flood Alleviation Scheme in Lowestoft.

This is a significant civil engineering project involving the construction of a new pumping station to help prevent flooding in the local area. The scheme is largely based out in the fields and includes extensive civils and earthworks works.

The initial contract is for 12 months; however, there is around 2 years of work available. This is expected to be a difficult and demanding job, requiring a proactive, switched-on Site Manager with strong civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day site management of the flood alleviation works

  • Managing site activities for the pumping station construction

  • Coordinating civils and earthworks operations

  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to quality standards

  • Working under NEC contracts and supporting commercial and project teams

  • Managing subcontractors, site teams, and daily logistics

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects

  • NEC contract experience (essential)

  • Strong background in civils and earthworks

  • Experience on flood alleviation, pumping stations, or similar infrastructure projects preferred

  • Ability to manage challenging sites in remote or rural locations

This role would suit a Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of a complex civil engineering scheme and driving site delivery in a demanding environment.
