This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a main contractor and work on an exciting By-pass project.

The company are market leaders in Roads and Highways and your role as Site Manager will be responsible for looking after the Major Earthworks involved with the project.

Key responsibilities for this Site Manager role:

  • Acting as Construction Manager: Taking on the role of the construction manager on-site, overseeing all construction activities related to earthworks.
  • Overseeing Major Earthworks: Directing and supervising significant earthmoving operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
  • Site Supervision: Providing on-site leadership, guidance, and supervision to ensure work is carried out efficiently and to high-quality standards.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Gathering Permits: Securing necessary permits and approvals for earthworks activities in compliance with local regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Programming: Developing work schedules and construction timelines, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and timely completion of earthworks.
  • Liaising with Project Stakeholders: Maintaining communication with project managers, agents, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate activities, address issues, and provide progress updates.

Experience required for this Site Manager role:

  • Earthworks Expertise: Proficiency in planning, coordinating, and overseeing earthmoving operations, including excavation, grading, and soil stabilization.
  • Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team of workers, subcontractors, and equipment operators effectively.
  • Health and Safety: Thorough understanding and implementation of health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • First Aid Certification: Training and certification in first aid to provide immediate medical assistance if necessary.
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme): Certification in SSSTS to supervise and enforce health and safety practices on-site.
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme): Possession of a CSCS card, indicating competence in construction-related tasks.
  • Temporary Work Coordinator: Experience in coordinating temporary structures and supports required for earthworks operations.
  • EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register): Registration with EUSR, demonstrating competence in utility-related activities, this is non-essential but ideal.
  • Excavation Knowledge: Understanding of excavation techniques, regulations, and safety measures.
