Job Title: Site Engineer
Location: South East London
Salary / Benefits: £54,000 - £58,000
Start Date: immediate start available.
Company Information:
My Client are a major supplier to the rail industry delivering a wide range of multi-disciplinary services across the infrastructure.
This role is to work on the maintenance side of the business. The maintenance model adopted was to package all infrastructure maintenance and fault response for the core route [between Dalston Junction and New Cross/New Cross Gate] into a single multi-disciplinary infrastructure maintenance contract.
The Role:
- Target for response to a service affecting/safety fault is 20 minutes from receipt of call from FRC/SRCC to reaching site. Ensure FRC is rung when the team gets to site to confirm arrival.
- Diagnose and repair faults to restore equipment to service as soon as possible. Where not possible there and then, liaise with customers via FRC to ensure that a way forward is agreed that is accepted by all relevant parties. Where possible make safe, restore service, and return later to make a permanent repair.
- Accurately record details of faults and relay information to FRC and other relevant parties, so that it is clear what happened, when, and what the next steps are if the fault is still open. Also compile fault reports when required to do so.
- Where you do not have the resources or competence to correct faults from within the fault team, identify the extent of the fault, location, what track access is needed. Take photos as necessary and pass on full details to the relevant manager.
- Where the fault is a safety or train delay fault, liaise with a senior manager (the on-call manager out of hours) to ensure the necessary support.
- Where the fault is a lift fault, ensure a team member attends and if unable to resolve (or an entrapment) meets the lift engineer on site to ensure that we have a record of what they do to restore the lift.
- Assist the FMT Manager in ensuring that FRC and Maximo are up to date and accurate. Ensure that you know the status of all faults or what is outstanding and who is actioning it. Ensure this is recorded via FRC and Maximo
- Carry out routine maintenance as per the maintenance program ensuring work orders, MAM App and Maximo are completed.
- Assist the FMT Manager in creating a shift report for each shift identifying what maintenance and faulting was carried out/missed.
