About the Role

This role sits within the commercial and cost management function supporting large infrastructure programmes across the UK.

You will work closely with client teams, project managers and contractors to oversee commercial performance across projects. The role involves managing project costs, administering contracts and supporting procurement while ensuring commercial risks are properly managed.

You will also contribute to the development of junior team members and support the wider commercial team in delivering strong project outcomes.

 

The key requirements for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:

- Manage project cost control and financial performance
- Review and validate contractor and supplier applications for payment
- Prepare and present financial and commercial reports to stakeholders
- Support or lead procurement activities and contractor selection
- Administer construction contracts and manage contract changes
- Monitor commercial risks and support risk mitigation strategies
- Contribute to value management and cost optimisation activities
- Maintain accurate commercial and project records
- Work closely with project managers and client teams
- Support the development and mentoring of junior colleagues

 

Experience required for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:

- Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience delivering commercial management on civil infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of common UK construction contracts including NEC, ICC, FIDIC or JCT
- Experience managing project costs within complex infrastructure environments
- Ability to work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams

 

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:

- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
- Experience working within a consultancy environment
- Experience supporting large infrastructure programmes
