About the Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering projects across Scotland, working across a diverse portfolio including water, power and infrastructure schemes.
This role would suit a well-rounded Quantity Surveyor with experience across multiple sectors, ideally with exposure to Scottish Water or SSE frameworks. You will work closely with project teams to ensure commercial performance is maintained while supporting the successful delivery of projects.
The key requirements for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Manage commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final account
- Prepare and manage applications for payment, valuations and final accounts
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and account management
- Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Administer contracts in line with NEC or similar forms
- Support project teams with accurate commercial reporting
- Manage variations, compensation events and change control processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Experience required for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Experience working across water, power or general civil engineering schemes
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts particularly NEC4
- Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes
- Strong commercial awareness and financial control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Experience working on Scottish Water or SSE frameworks
- Experience working within a main contractor environment
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Working towards or holding RICS accreditation
