Senior Quantity Surveyors & Associate Quantity Surveyors - Major Civils & Nuclear Projects

Location: Hybrid / Remote, with 1-2 days per week in London Hub + site visits as required
Salary: £60,000 - £90,000 + Benefits
Contract: Permanent (All roles PAYE - no self-employed)


The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity to join a leading Built Environment Consultancy delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions across thousands of projects every year. With over 1,000 professionals nationwide, that continues to grow and is now seeking several Senior Quantity Surveyors and Associate-level QS professionals to support a major UK civils and nuclear projects.

These roles will play a pivotal part in the commercial leadership and financial delivery of a significant long-term infrastructure scheme.


About the Role

You will lead sections or major elements of the project, ensuring robust commercial performance, cost control and effective contract administration. The positions require strong technical capability, team leadership, and the ability to engage confidently with client representatives and senior stakeholders.

Key focus areas include cost management, forecasting, Earned Value, procurement, risk management and change control, all within a target cost contract environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial management for your section or major work package

  • Prepare and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting

  • Oversee procurement processes and supplier engagement

  • Deliver accurate financial and performance reporting

  • Lead risk management and value engineering activities

  • Manage change, compensation events and early warnings

  • Drive dispute avoidance and maintain strong commercial governance

  • Administer target cost contracts effectively

  • Build strong working relationships with client and project teams

  • Lead, mentor and support junior commercial staff working toward chartership

  • Support supply chain management and performance reviews


Requirements:

  • Chartered status with RICS, ICES, CIOB or equivalent (or strong experience at that level)

  • Demonstrable experience working on major civils, infrastructure or nuclear-related projects

  • Prior experience with target cost contract models

  • Strong commercial leadership skills and the ability to manage work packages autonomously

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and client-facing skills

  • Experience managing teams and mentoring developing professionals

  • Must be a UK Passport Holder and eligible to obtain security clearance

  • Proficient in financial reporting, risk, procurement and change control


Working Model:

  • Hybrid / remote working

  • 1–2 days per week in London

  • Site visits as required
