Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a leading infrastructure contractor.

Our client is a well-established Tier 1 contractor delivering major rail and infrastructure projects across the UK. They are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based out of Canary Wharf with occasional travel to Redhill and project sites (all travel outside Canary Wharf expensed).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take ownership of complex contracts, lead a small team, and play a key role in the successful delivery of major rail and infrastructure schemes. Candidates from other construction or civils backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, or rail projects

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts

  • Previous line management or team leadership experience

  • Excellent financial, contractual and commercial control skills

  • Ability to manage both main and subcontract commercial relationships

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline

  • Professional membership (RICS / CICES) desirable

Duties include:

  • Overseeing commercial performance across complex contracts or project sections

  • Managing and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors

  • Administering NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and best practice

  • Supporting the operations team with risk management and value engineering

  • Preparing cost reports, forecasts and final accounts

  • Managing subcontractor accounts, variations and payments

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Leading commercial negotiations and dispute resolution where required

Package & Benefits:

  • Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 (depending on experience)

  • Company car or car allowance (£4,200)

  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the Canary Wharf office, 2 days from home

  • 37.5-hour working week
