Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water Reactive Maintenance (Southern Water Framework)

Rate: Competitive (DOE)

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support reactive maintenance works within the Southern Water framework. This is a hands-on, client-facing position ideally suited to someone who enjoys being out on site, working closely with operations and H&S teams, and helping to deliver high-volume, low-value water maintenance projects across the South East.

You'll play a key role in managing commercial performance, building relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring robust contract and cost control in line with NEC Option A & E.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day commercial activities across multiple small-value, high-volume reactive maintenance projects.

Prepare and review cost reports, valuations, and change management under NEC contracts.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with the operations and H&S teams.

Interface directly with the client (Southern Water), ensuring transparency and accountability.

Support and mentor junior commercial staff within a team of 5-6.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance, and safety standards.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor in the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

Strong understanding of NEC Option A & E forms of contract.

Comfortable with site-based work (up to 3 days per week) across Sussex, Hampshire, Brighton, and Horsham.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive, relationship-driven approach.

Previous experience with reactive maintenance or term service contracts is highly desirable.

Eligible to work in the UK.
