Senior Project Engineer

Our Well known client based out of Munich is looking for a Senior project Engineer In this position you will play a key role in equipment projects for signaling and train control systems . You will undertake diverse tasks in the areas of technical design, planning, management, and implementation of these projects.   

Your tasks

  • Analysis of all requirements in the project
  • Definition, commissioning and monitoring of the timely delivery of work packages within the planned budget
  • Moderation of the definition of optimal technical solutions in the project as well as support in the preparation of proposals.
  • Coordination of technical requirements with internal teams, the client, authorities, specialist planners and construction companies
  • Communicating the project goals to the team and monitoring the technical activities in accordance with the project plan
  • Control and monitoring of work packages, support in maintaining the project plan, and change and risk management.
  • Analysis and monitoring of the achievement of project goals using relevant KPIs
  • Leading project meetings as well as documenting and reporting project progress to the client.

Your profile

  • Completed studies in the field of electrical engineering, automation technology, traffic engineering or comparable
  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a project engineer or team leader in railway infrastructure projects,
  • Structured and solution-oriented work style, strong communication skills and team spirit
  • Experience in project management and/or in the development or implementation of railway guidance or control systems
  • Proficient use of MS Office and project management tools
  • Very good German skills (at least C1-C2) and very good English skills (at least C1).


Desirable additional skills

  • Experience in railway projects, especially with signal boxes (IXL) and the European Train Control System (ETCS)
  • Familiarity with configuration management methods, tools, and documentation standards in the railway context
  • Experience in requirements analysis and traceability
  • Knowledge of managing subsystem configurations (documentation, production)
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvement measures
  • Strong communication skills for actively shaping tool and system requirements
