Senior Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead
Location: Site Based - Snowdonia, Wales
Salary & Package: Negotiable dependant on experience plus package including accommodation & Car / Car allowance.
Summary
A specialist Civil Engineering contractor are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager with a strong background working on large scale Civil Engineering projects to
to take responsibility for the commercial function on a £350 Million pound Tunnelling project which will run over a 6 year period.
Accommodation available on project where required.
This will be the most senior Commercial position on the project reporting to the Project Director and will be responsible for delivering the commercial strategy and contributing to a result agreed with Management
Accountabilities
- Collaborating with Project Manager/Director, Production Team, Clients' Representatives, Supply Chain (in particular Subcontractors) and 'Others' (as defined in NEC Contracts)
- Submitting and securing applications to maximise cash income
- Preparing or approving subcontractor payments to ensure compliance with terms
- Producing accurate and timely forecasts and monthly reports to demonstrate contract performance
- Monitoring commercial and contract performance to ensure prompt and focussed corrective action
- Ensuring that local teams and workloads are balanced
- Mentor subordinate staff
- regular commercial meetings internally or with client
Candidate Specification
- Experience working a similar role with a strong background working on large scale civil infrastructure projects.
- BSc or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or commercial related discipline
- Tunnelling/Civil Engineering Experience (highly desirable)
- NEC contract experience
